Antoine Feh\u00e9r<\/strong> born January 3, 1979 passed away on January 9, 2025. He leaves as survivors his son Gabriel Feh\u00e9r, his brother Oliver Feh\u00e9r and his parents Lorraine Caissy and Kalman Feh\u00e9r, and also Lisa Lisa Deslauriers, Gabriel’s mother, her daughter Ellie, Gabriel’s half-sister and Lisa’s parents Linda Bourdages (spouse Donald Fournier) and Jean-Luc Deslauriers (spouse Ren\u00e9e Litalien).<\/p>\n

Looking out the window one morning Antoine asked: \u201cMaman, is the moon giving its place to the sun?\u201d Infant Antoine was already teaching us that lamps extinguish in the morning because the light they had been keeping has dawned. Like search-beacons in the night, fireflies light up to show their presence in the vastness so that other fireflies might see them. They do this because a firefly just flashing in the dark without ever seeing, however distant, a soul-mate is the loneliest bug in the world. Timing must be perfect, like a bell tolling, because for that single moment which happens to be a human life, we too amount to just flashes in the fathomless blackness of the universe. In that one instant which is a human life, only the luckiest few get to see the flash of another firefly just like them, just then, in that singular cosmic moment of a lifetime and know that they are not alone. Antoine had not been \u201cprogrammed to receive\u201d (as the song goes), instead he gave and not only as a career nurse but also at every step on his journey. Giving, was his DNA, and give he did! He did this because he was a very rare number, that mathematical one that is more than itself in the canonical formula 1+1=3 with unusually large values of 1<\/b>. The true measure of a human being is how he treats those who can do nothing for him. And when so noble a firefly sees another flash, that moment becomes sacred in the graces of Holy Creation because then light multiplied falls on the winding path they stumble along. We have been lucky but much more importantly we have been very blessed in having had a firefly called Antoine as our son.<\/p>\n

Antoine Feh\u00e9r<\/strong>, n\u00e9 le 3 janvier 1979, est mort subitement, \u00e0 son domicile de Carleton, un peu avant minuit le 9 janvier 2025. Il laisse dans le deuil : son fils Gabriel, ses parents Lorraine Caissy et Kalman Feh\u00e9r, son fr\u00e8re Oliver, sa ni\u00e8ce Stella, Lisa Deslauriers, la m\u00e8re de Gabriel, sa fille Ellie, demi-soeur de Gabriel et tr\u00e8s aim\u00e9e d’Antoine, ainsi que les parents de Lisa, Linda Bourdages (conjoint: Donald Fournier) et Jean-Luc Deslauriers (conjointe: Ren\u00e9e Litalien). Il laisse aussi ses tantes, oncles, cousins et cousines, ses amis d\u2019enfance et \u00e0 ce jour, ses coll\u00e8gues de l\u2019h\u00f4pital de Campbellton o\u00f9 il \u00e9tait un infirmier appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 de ses patients et coll\u00e8gues.

Un matin regardant par la fen\u00eatre Antoine a demand\u00e9: \u00ab Maman, est-ce que la lune c\u00e8de sa place au soleil? \u00bb Enfant Antoine nous enseignait d\u00e9j\u00e0 que les lampes s\u2019\u00e9teignent \u00e0 l’aube car la lumi\u00e8re qu\u2019elles ont pr\u00e9serv\u00e9e se fait jour. Comme des balises dans la nuit, les lucioles s’allument pour annoncer leur pr\u00e9sence dans l\u2019immensit\u00e9, afin que d\u2019autres lucioles puissent les voir. Elles le font parce qu\u2019une luciole qui ne fait que clignoter dans l\u2019obscurit\u00e9 sans jamais voir, f\u00fbt-ce \u00e0 une grande distance, une \u00e2me s\u0153ur, est la bibitte la plus solitaire au monde. Le juste instant se doit d\u2019\u00eatre parfait, comme le glas d\u2019une cloche, car pendant cet instant singulier qui se trouve \u00eatre une vie humaine, nous aussi ne sommes que des clignotements \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8res dans l\u2019obscurit\u00e9 insondable de l\u2019univers. Dans cet instant unique qu’est une vie humaine, seulement quelques-uns des plus chanceux arrivent \u00e0 voir le clignotement d\u2019une autre luciole exactement comme eux, exactement en m\u00eame temps, en ce moment cosmique singulier qu’est une vie humaine et savent qu\u2019ils ne sont pas seuls. Antoine n\u2019avait pas \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00ab programm\u00e9 pour recevoir \u00bb (comme le dit la chanson), au lieu de cela il a donn\u00e9 et pas seulement en tant qu\u2019infirmier de carri\u00e8re mais aussi \u00e0 chaque \u00e9tape de son parcours. Donner \u00e9tait dans ses g\u00e8nes et il donna sans mesure! Antoine a fait cela parce qu\u2019il \u00e9tait un nombre tr\u00e8s rare, ce \u00ab un\u00a0\u00bb math\u00e9matique qui se d\u00e9passe dans la formule canonique 1+1=3 avec des valeurs de 1 extraordinairement larges<\/b>. La v\u00e9ritable mesure d\u2019un \u00eatre humain r\u00e9side dans la mani\u00e8re dont il traite ceux qui ne peuvent rien lui offrir. Et quand une luciole aussi noble voit un autre clignotement, ce moment devient sacr\u00e9 dans la gr\u00e2ce de la Sainte Cr\u00e9ation, car alors une lumi\u00e8re multiple inonde le sentier sinueux sur lequel ils tr\u00e9buchent. Nous avons eu la chance, mais plus encore, nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 profond\u00e9ment b\u00e9nis d\u2019avoir eu une luciole nomm\u00e9e Antoine pour fils.<\/p>\n

Les fun\u00e9railles d\u2019Antoine seront c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9es en l\u2019\u00e9glise de Nouvelle \u00e0 11h00 le 28 janvier. Il est \u00e0 noter que la famille vous accueillera \u00e0 compter de 9h30 pour y recevoir vos condol\u00e9ances.<\/strong><\/p>\n

La famille d\u00e9sire souligner le respect, la compassion et l\u2019humanit\u00e9 de tous les intervenants accourus prestement au domicile d\u2019Antoine le lendemain matin du soir fatidique.<\/p>\n
