John Robert Vicaire
June 17, 1966 – December 2, 2023
It is with deep sorrow and a lot of broken hearts that the family of John Robert Vicaire of Listuguj, Quebec, announces the untimely passing of a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Robert lost his courageous battle with Esophageal Cancer at the age of 57, peacefully and surrounded by his family during the early morning of December 2 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital.
Robert was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 17, 1966, the son of the late John Melvin Vicaire and the late Eunice Sanifas, predeceased by his loving granddaughter, Kathryn (Kathy). Robert is survived by his three children, Chase (Shania), Lake and Hannah (Miranda). His four grandchildren: Emma, Zayden, Kingsley and Kaisley. His brothers, Thomas (Duma) and Tommy Larocque, his sister, Lillian, and his lifelong friend, whom he considered a brother Angus Barnaby, and numerous cousins.
His family, friends and community are invited to share happy memories and celebrate Robert’s life in the way he would want to be remembered- as a loving and caring man who lived life to the fullest!
A Celebration of Life will be held at the LISTUGUJ Community Center, at 42 Dundee Road, in LISTUGUJ, Qc. on Monday, December 11, 10:00 am till 12:00 pm NB time will be viewing for the public.
A service will be held from 12-3pm NB time with a sit-down dinner for immediate family and to go for everyone else or join family if seating permits.
Arrangements are under the direction of Santerre et Fils Ent. from Carleton, Quebec
ROBERT WAS A NOT ONLY A BROTHER TO ME,, BUT A GREAT FRIEND 👍,,A GOOD HUNTING PARTNER,,FISHING PARTNER,AN IRONWORKING PARTNER HOCKEY PLAYER PARTNER, BECAUSE WE BOTH PLAYED HOCKEY BUT IN DIFFERENT LEAGUES, EVENTUALLY I CAUGHT UP TO HIM IN SAME LEAGUE, BUT ALSO ON THE SAME TEAM ,I PLAYED LEFT WING AND HE WAS OUR GOLDTENDER, DAM HE WAS THE BEST !! We EVENTUALLY MADE IT TO THE PLAY OFFS AND BEAT EVERY TEAM WE PLAYED AND MADE IT TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME . IT WAS LIKE BEING IN GAME 7 OF STANLEY CUP ! SO WE HAD TO WIN !! 🏆 HE DIDN’T LET THE TEAM DOWN , HE MADE SOME KEY SAVES THAT WOULD ENCOURAGE THE TEAM TO PROTECT OUR LEAD AND SCORE MORE GOALS,,WE ” WON 5 TO 3 AND AND RECEIVED THE CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY 🏆 FOR OUR LEAGUE WHICH WAS PEE-WEE ” A ” WE HONED OUR SKILLS EACH YEAR BY ATTENDING HOCKEY SCHOOL IN CHATHAM
Sending my deepest sympathy to Robert’s Family. I got to know Robert when I worked at the Natural Resources as receptionist, there we formed a friendship. He always had a bright smile on his face , was so proud of the work he did for Listuguj, spoke about how he loved to cook, Talked about his children and the love he had for is grand children was priceless ❤️
